Abstract Submission
Deadline to submit an abstract: 15th February 2026.
Presentations will only be offered to postgraduate and early career researchers (no more than 7 years’ experience or part-time equivalent since the award of their PhD, excluding periods of parental or care leave and/or career gaps).
The work presented should focus on academic research rather than the applied aspects of projects. We’ll consider a wide range of topics for Carbonate Forum 2026! See Conference Philosophy & Topics for details, and the graphic map below for some ideas!

The abstract submission is not a “conventional abstract” but consists of filling in the form, with brief bullet points (up to 250 words each) summarizing: 1) research motivation and hypotheses tested, 2) approach/methods, 3) key results, and 4) their significance.
The Scientific Committee will review your contribution and provide formative feedback by 15th March 2026. You will have the option to submit a revised contribution by 29th March 2026. The final decision of acceptance and presentation format will then be undertaken, and the meeting schedule finalized.
Note: this year you also have the opportunity to upload a graphical abstract (pdf format up to 100Mb). A schematic layout for your graphical abstract is shown below.
